countdown begins
Happy Monday all!
I'm starting off my week seriously antsy. I only have five days (including today) left of my current job. Only five more days of office design. Only five more days of having to accomodate various (none interior design related) requests. Only five more days until I get to work in Manhattan! I seriously cannot contain my excitement.
At the same time that I'm incredibly excited, I am also somewhat stressing about what to wear my first day. I know it sounds completely trivial but lets be honest, first impressions are everything and this is essentially the first impression these awesomely chic people will have on me. Which means my first day outfit has to be perfect. So between closing out everything I have at work, completing Homepolish projects, and getting in shape for my vacation (68 days away) I need to find the time to put together my first day of work outfit. Wish me luck!

Isaac Mizrahi's NYC home
Looking into a designer's home is always so entertaining. To see the spaces that they've created for themselves is such a fascinating look inside how a designer likes to spend their time off. So when I saw that Architectural Digest was featuring Isaac Mizrahi's NYC home, I was beyond excited to scroll through.
Designed by the fashion trailblazer himself, with the help of Architect David Bers, this home is a refined expression of Mizrahi and husband Arnold Germer's style. The 2,600 square-foot apartment is actually a combination of three apartments that Misrahi worked to obtain for over 20 years. Originally purchasing the first installment- a one bedroom he happily lived in for years- a few years prior to the 1995 documentary Unzipped, which made Mizrahi a house-hold name in the fashion industry. Then next he obtained the studio apartment two doors down, dreaming nightly about what he would do if he got the chance to purchase the two bedroom space in between the apartments. Once acquired, the designer went to town creating a beautiful, well thought out, living space.
Compiled of remarkably lovely flea market finds- like the "Louis XVI- style chair upholstered in metallic leather... "(pg1.par7), which sits in the bedroom- and breathtaking artwork, the fashion designer did an amazing job making these three apartments feel like one amazing New York Home.
